Anne is Chief Legal Officer and Vice President of Policy and Research at Payments Canada, the operator of Canada’s national payment systems. Anne is responsible for leadership of the organization’s research, policy, legal and governance functions, and for advising the Board of Directors and its committees. Before joining Payments Canada in June 2015, Anne was a senior executive at a Canadian life insurance company, where she held positions of progressive responsibility, including leading the legal, compliance, communications, and human resources teams. Anne’s mission is to provide integrated advice and advocacy to enable great business outcomes. She speaks frequently on payments law and policy issues relevant to the future of payment systems. Anne received her LL.B from Queen's University Faculty of Law in 1995 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1997. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Volunteer Ottawa, and the YMCA/YWCA of the National Capital Region, and is a mentor with the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association.
